Project Profile
Educational Success Online Project Details
High school students enrolled in a virtual school often do not possess the soft skills necessary to complete courses
successfully in an online environment. Five factors have been identified as predictors of success: technology skills,
self-discipline and time management skills, confidence, and an internal locus of control. In an effort to prepare high
school students for success in a virtual school online course, our team will develop an instructional unit that will assist
students to form these five factors in order to achieve success within the virtual school environment.
Intended Audience and Customer/Client
The intended audience for this instructional unit will be high school students in grades 9-12 who have chosen to attend a
virtual school to complete coursework.
