Kari M. Daevel
Lead Instructional Designer
Kari has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from The University of Memphis, with an
emphasis in Advertising. In May of 2012, she completed her Master’s of Science with
an emphasis in School Counseling, and in August of 2012 she began working on her
Doctorate of Education in Instructional Design and Technology at The University of
Memphis.
While working her masters she held a Graduate Assistantship (GA) position at the
University of Memphis in the Instruction and Curriculum Leadership Department (ICL).
The main focus of the position was working directly with professors to set up their courses in eCourseware, the
University’s version of Desire to Learn (D2L). She began a new assistantship when she started working on her
Doctorate. The main focus was to help the Education Department as they prepared to adopt the LiveText software. In
addition to this, she has worked with students as they prepare to submit a high-stakes assessment to Pearson. To
accommodate the upcoming growth in the number of students taking part in this assessment, she has developed a
website and numerous video tutorials to help guide them through the process.
